The plot below shows that the ammonia can be desorbed and reabsorbed in a reversible process.   The formation and decomposition of ammonia is a well known reversible process.   By altering the pressure and temperatures of the hydrogen and nitrogen gases, the desired result can be achieved.   The same kind of predictable reversible process is desired between the metal ammine and the ammonia.
